FILM ARTIST Submission

Being a portrait photographer I am always focused on what is aesthetically pleasing to the human eye. No focus on where or when, mainly who or what.



When I picked up film photography, I had no expectations or direction. This was a fresh start, doing something I was intimidated by and learning to not let perfectionism overcome me.


Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but it’s not always a human subject. Film helped me rediscovered the beauty of the world around me. I have learned to sit with the stillness in this perfectly imperfect world.


An intentional forward of the film. Be present. Manual focus. No digital preview. Release of control. Shoot.


These candid photos of nature never require editing or retouching, a breath of fresh air to my soul.


When I took a look inward and thought about my work and how different my approach is, it made me realize just shooting with a vision and my heart allows me, a Virgo, to release control even for a little while.

WHERE THE FLOWERS BLOOM  (2025)

On a really heavy trip to Canada for a family memorial, my partner & I decided to make light of what we could & took a 4-wheeler adventure on a family friends neighboring property with an unimaginable world behind it. We took a moment to come off the thrill-seeking high & “stopped to smell the flowers” so to speak. Golden rods were in full bloom, the sign of the end of summer. A reminder that all things come to an end: the seasons, relationships, & even our time, so you should stop & look at the flowers while you can.

Ceiba speciosa (2025)

Ceiba speciosa, the Silk Floss Tree was in full bloom at Mounts Botanical Garden in West Palm Beach, FL & I got a chance to see it in all its glory. It was a truly breathtaking moment seeing all pink flowers in the midst of fall. Something I don’t usually get to stop & take in.

tAKE A WALK WITH ME (2025)

On an adventure, looking for butterflies in Florida, I managed to get the first image with lighting that I could never recreate. Satisfied with that shot I kept messing with my camera & decided to google how to do a double exposure. I was curious & had never done it before. And so, one of my favorite double exposures was born.

During the recent No Kings protest against our current regime, I was trying to kill some rolls of film I had been sitting on for months & decided to document my experience at the protest. This wonderful couple serenaded the crowd and with so much radiating love, greeted every person who crossed their path, including myself. May this kind of longevity, kindness & love find me.

SHOT ON KODAK GOLD 200 (FROM THE 90'S)

In the fall my partner convinced me to stop by an estate sale we were driving by and we scored two old Minolta film cameras and a few rolls of old Kodak Gold 200. We didn't have high hopes for the cameras or the film but shot it anyway.

I managed to capture this image on Thanksgiving on a solo walk testing out the camera. I was not expecting the camera to work or the film to develop but I was so grateful when I finally got it developed.
